About

The Quadripartite Working Group on AMR Awareness was established in May 2022 with a broad mandate to enhance knowledge and understanding of this global health threat across One Health stakeholders, fostering synergies in approaches to diverse target segments. The group, comprising representatives from the four Quadripartite organizations, collaborates to develop targeted tools, messages, tools and campaigns for AMR awareness. WHO provides secretariat support for the Working Group.

Functions of the Working Group

  • Increase AMR awareness among key stakeholders to drive behaviour change and ensure prioritization by policymakers
  • Develop standardized language and harmonized messaging on AMR for diverse target audiences
  • Coordinate World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) and lead the development and dissemination of joint campaign resources
  • Establish a joint agenda to leverage opportunities and events to raise awareness and improve the visibility of AMR globally 
  • Conduct periodic consultations with a wide range of experts and stakeholders to identify priority areas for joint awareness and behaviour change initiatives across the Quadripartite organizations
  • Develop a long-term joint communication and awareness strategy
  • Develop and disseminate awareness-raising tools for specific target audiences such as youth, media, policymakers and parliamentarians 
  • Develop activities to support the QJS strategic framework and workplan
