About

The Global Leaders Group on AMR was established in November 2020 following the recommendation of the Inter-agency Coordination Group (IACG) on AMR to strengthen global political momentum and leadership on AMR. The inaugural meeting of the Group took place in January 2021.

The Global Leaders Group on AMR is chaired by Her Excellency Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, and includes members from across different sectors and countries.

Members include:

• Heads of state
• Serving or former ministers and/or senior government officials (acting in their individual capacities)
• Senior representatives of foundations and civil society organizations
• Leaders from the private sector

 The Group meets quarterly to discuss and decide implementation of its action plan. The Group is supported by technical teams and advisors and a communications team consisting of communications leads from the offices of members.

The Quadripartite Joint Secretariat on AMR provides secretariat support for the Group.
