Damilola Adesuyi

Biography

Damilola Adesuyi is an early-career public health microbiologist leveraging behavioural science and the One Health approach to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and zoonoses. He works as a Program Officer at the One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI), where he leads risk communication and supports research on AMR and zoonotic diseases. Damilola is a Tsuha Global Fellow, 2024 Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) Early Career Grant recipient, Trinity Challenge Youth Seed Funding awardee, and American Society for Microbiology Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship (ASM FLMF) alumnus. He has co-authored scientific and technical publications, contributed to Nigeria’s AMR policy, including the Situational Analysis that shaped National Action Plan (NAP) 2.0, and supported the National AMR Coordinating Committee to prioritize the NAP’s activities.

Passionate about youth-led action, Damilola has advanced engagement in AMR and microbial sciences through leadership roles at Stop Superbugs Squad, Africa Public Health Student Network, and as a Microbiology Society (UK) Champion. At OHDI, he has developed and led youth-focused initiatives such as the award-winning African Youths for AMR Communication Project and the One Health Ambassadors Program.
