Rachel Cheung Wing Tung

Biography

Rachel Cheung is a fifth-year medical student and President’s Scholar at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) with an MSc in Public Health (Health Services Management) from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), where her dissertation focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) policy. She has advanced advocacy on AMR, non‑communicable diseases, climate and health, and tobacco control through leadership in the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), serving as Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) External Affairs Assistant for Advocacy and Regional Assistant for Asia-Pacific, and as Director on Public Health for the Asian Medical Students’ Association Hong Kong (AMSAHK). She has brought health and youth perspectives to high‑level WHO and United Nations meetings, highlighting priorities for stronger and more sustainable global action. Her interests include connecting clinical medicine with health policy, strengthening youth engagement in decision‑making, and advancing sustainable responses to AMR and broader public health challenges.
