Jessica Mitchell

Biography

Jess is a zoologist by background and is interested in the behaviours which drive all forms of human-wildlife connection and conflicts. She holds a research Fellowship within the Global Academy for Agriculture and Food Systems, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, University of Edinburgh (UK) which focuses on exploring AMR in non-domestic animals and environments. She also co-leads the Community Engagement for AMR network (based at the University of Leeds, UK) which focuses on developing meaningful and sustainable community solutions to AMR in low resource settings. Much of her work is conducted in Uganda, Bangladesh and Nepal with multi-disciplinary teams. Jess is particularly keen to create materials that engage young people with the aim of creating young change-makers on AMR. Her PhD is in Biological Anthropology and she also holds an MBiolSci in Zoology.
