Sabiha Essack - Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal

She holds a Research Chair in Antibiotic Resistance and One Health. Her research interests include evidence-informed strategies for the prevention and containment of AMR along the One Health Spectrum. She has undertaken leadership in developing national technical guidance on AMR and AMU surveillance across the One Health spectrum at national and supranational levels. She is vice chair of the WHO STAG-AMR and is on the advisory boards of JPIAMR, CARB-X, and the Fleming Fund. Her expert opinion has been sought in the development of several AMR policies, research agendas, multisectoral coordination, and education and training programs.
