Prof Hendriksen has extensive national and supranational experience as lead or chair at national and international levels in developing and implementing cross-sectoral AMR surveillance activities (WHO CC, EU Reference labs and FAO Reference Lab). He has provided strategic and technical advice as an expert to the WHO (GFN, AGISAR, Tricycle), the EC (Directorate General for Health and Consumers, EFSA, and ECDC), and the Danish Government (Danish Veterinary and Food Administration). He is the focal person and a known expert for the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) and the ECDC. He is a member of the Fleming Fund Alumni Network Steering Committee as well as being Fleming Fund regional grant grantee of programmes in Africa and Asia. He researches and publishes extensively on the characterization of food- and water-borne pathogens and associated antimicrobial resistance in a surveillance and outbreak detection context.
