John Berezowski

Prof John Berezowski - Veterinary Epidemiologist, Professor and Chair in Disease Surveillance,

He is currently developing a veterinary surveillance intelligence unit (VSIU) for Scotland. He has led and participated in teams that have designed and implemented public health, animal health and One Health surveillance systems at national and regional levels (Scotland, Canada, Switzerland, Kenya, Cuba). His research has focused on creating integrated surveillance and health information systems.

Many of these systems have required integrating disparate data from multiple sources including livestock, wildlife, people, the environment and geospatial data. Through the CoEval Project, he has participated in the development of methods for evaluating AMR/AMU surveillance.
