Lucía Pérez Gómez

Biography

Lucía Pérez Gómez is a sixth-year Medical student at the Autonomous University of Madrid. She currently serves as the Vice President for External Affairs at the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), where she works on advocacy and political engagement in the field of health and youth participation. Prior to her current role, Lucía was the Liaison Officer for Medical Sciences and Research Issues at the same organization for two terms, where she worked to promote medical research and health sciences. Throughout her career, she has worked at the local, national, and international levels, empowering the voices of thousands of medical students around the world and connecting them with each other as well as with their communities. Her goal is to encourage her peers' active participation in decision-making processes related to health, education, and social justice, fostering an inclusive and collaborative approach. During her time in IFMSA, Lucía had the opportunity to attend two World Health Assemblies, and last year she led the Advocacy Working Group on AMR on it as well as attended ECCMID 2024. Lucía is passionate about mobilizing students and professionals around highly relevant issues, contributing to the medical student community's significant impact on global health policies.
