Luca Guardabassi is a veterinary microbiologist who works as a Professor in One Health Antimicrobial Resistance in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. His research spans a broad range of AMR topics from epidemiological and evolutionary studies on multidrug-resistant bacteria of human, animal and environmental origins, to developing and testing new antibiotics, drug targets, alternatives to antibiotics and diagnostic tests. His contribution to the Technical Group is likely to be varied but will certainly include AMR emergence and transmission trends in animals (including in relation to AMU), and farm interventions to slow such trends.
