Dr Biyun Ching - Senior Scientist, Veterinary Microbiology Section, Centre for Animal & Veterinary

Sciences, National Parks Board, Singapore.

Dr Ching works on bacterial and mycological disease diagnostics and tests establishments for national surveillance and detection competencies. In her role, Dr Ching leads laboratory diagnostic activities for aquatic bacterial diseases, including ongoing piloting efforts for AMR surveillance and monitoring in aquatic isolates. She is an advisor to the CLSI Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing Working Group for Aquatic Animals, as well as part of the working group involved in drafting the soon-to-be-published FAO regional guidelines for the monitoring and surveillance of AMR in bacteria from aquaculture. Dr Ching is the country representative in the Technical Discussion Group for the development of regionally customized (and globally aligned) broth microdilution plates for AMR surveillance in aquaculture. She is also the working group Chair for the Regional Reference Centre (RRC) for Biorisk Management and Quality Assurance.
