The 5^th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), hosted by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is scheduled to take place in Abuja from 6-8 December 2026. Building on the commitments of the 2024 United Nations General Assembly Political Declaration on AMR and the outcomes of previous Ministerial Conferences, including the 4^th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in 2024, the Conference will bring together Ministers, senior government officials, leaders of international organizations and a broad range of stakeholders to review progress, address implementation challenges and accelerate coordinated One Health action against AMR.

Preparations are being led by the Government of Nigeria in close collaboration with the Quadripartite organizations and the Quadripartite Joint Secretariat (QJS). In line with the Conference Road Map released by the host country, a structured programme of consultations with Member States and stakeholders will be undertaken to further refine the Conference Programme and the draft Abuja Compact, with the aim of building broad consensus and ownership of the Conference outcomes and delivering ambitious, action-oriented commitments that accelerate implementation of global AMR commitments.
